In accordance with the principles of transparency and environmental responsibility, Orolboyi National Nature Park regularly publishes key ecological and geographical indicators, as well as up-to-date statistical data on the state of the Aral Sea region.
General Information and Territorial Zoning
Orolboyi National Nature Park was established in 2019 and is located in the Bozataw district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan (along the borders of Bozataw and Nukus districts, 80–85 km from the city of Nukus). Protection of Rare Species (Red Data Book)
The main objective of the national nature park is the conservation of unique natural complexes, the genetic fund of plants and animals, the prevention of negative human impact on nature, as well as environmental monitoring.
- 12 species of rare birds listed in the Red Data Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
- 17 species of reptiles, comprising 56.1% of the total reptile fauna of Karakalpakstan. Of these, 2 species are listed in the Red Data Book: the desert monitor (Varanus griseus) and the Central Asian steppe tortoise (Testudo horsfieldi).
