Why do pets need a passport?
Veterinary passport is a document that records information about the animal’s identification number, its owner, vaccination against diseases, and treatment.
Identification procedure:
Animal owners should contact the representative of the veterinary service at the place of permanent residence after a certain period of time after the birth of the animal.
For each species of animal, this period is determined separately, taking into account their tendency to live after birth. For example, cattle, sheep and goats, camels are registered from the age of 14 days, colts and colts from the age of 4 months.
Do animals need to be taken to veterinary departments for identification?
The representative of the veterinary service will go to the place and identify the animals within 3 days after receiving the application (based on payment). Dogs and cats can be voluntarily taken to veterinary departments at the owner’s request.
Is animal identification mandatory?
Cattle, sheep and goats, pigs, horses, donkeys and camels, dogs and cats must be identified. Failure to comply with this condition is a violation of veterinary, veterinary-sanitary rules and regulations and leads to appropriate liability.
What happens if identified animals are sold and donated?
The person who bought the animal registers the animal within 7 days through the veterinary service of the place of permanent residence. In this case, the animal will not be re-identified or issued a new passport. An entry related to the old passport is entered and confirmed by the responsible employee.
